How to calculate square footage
If you don’t know how to calculate square footage, here’s a little tutorial. Refer to the example dance floor on the right.
- Measure width and length of your floor. In the example, the width is 12ft (A) and the length is 18ft (B).
- To calculate the total square footage, use the formula AxB = total sq ft. In the example, 12ft x 18ft = 216 square feet

.How to calculate the number of edge pieces and corner pieces you will need to finish off your dance floor
Once you have calculated the size of your dance floor, you are ready to figure out how many edge pieces you will need.
- To calculate the total number of edge pieces, use the formula A+B+C+D = Total edging
In the example, 12+18+12+18 = 60 total edge pieces.
Note: this formula assumes that you require edge pieces on all 4 sides. Adjust accordingly if your dance floor will be against the wall or in a corner - which might eliminate your need for edging on all 4 sides
Edging and corner pieces attach to the dance floor tile quickly and easily. The sloped edging provides a finished look and eliminates the tripping hazard. |

HERE IS HOW TO MANUALLY CALCULATE DK PRO EDGE PIECE REQUIREMENTS.
First, here is how the edge pieces attach to the panels. You will notice two things: The edge pieces do not line up with the panels, they are staggered. The corner pieces are smaller than the edge pieces and are sold as sets of 2.
- Take the number of panels for the width and subtract 1, then multiply by 2.
- Take the number of panels for the length and subtract 1, then multiply by 2.
- Add the result of the width and length together to get the total number of corner sets needed (each set has 2 corner pieces).
