1. What kinds of dancing can be performed on DanceDeck and DanceDeck Deluxe?
DanceDeck is designed to be used for all types of social dancing at weddings or any type of special event. DanceDeck can also be used for ballroom dancing, dance studios and as a portable practice floor for professional dancers.

2. What colors are available?
DanceDeck in vinyl is available in 4 colors – Dark Wood, Light Wood, Black and White. DanceDeck Deluxe in wood is available in 2 colors – Chestnut (warm reddish brown) and Desert (light pine). See colors.

3. What is DanceDeck made of?
DanceDeck is made up of two parts: a polypropylene tray and a vinyl laminate top that sits snugly inside the tray. The tray is waterproof, flexible and sturdy with ribbed channels underneath that provides stability and allows for drainage. DanceDeck Deluxe is made up of two parts as well, the only difference being that instead of a vinyl laminate top; we use a real oak parquet top. See Specs.

5. What are the key differences between the vinyl and wood?
While the DanceDeck (vinyl) and DanceDeck Deluxe (wood) are both made of the same base, the top sections are different. Choose the vinyl if you are looking for a low-cost, practical solution. The vinyl is less expensive than the wood version and is easier to clean and maintain. Choose the wood version if you are looking for an elegant, real wood system. See Colors/Finishes.

6. I need a price and I do not see prices listed online, why not?

8. Do you rent dance floors?
Yes, we do rent dance floors. At present, the minimum area for rental floors is 800sq/ft in NY, NJ, and CT, and 6,000sq/ft in the remaining continental US. Please check back with us as we expand our local rental network for dance floors of 800sq/ft and up to Baltimore, Washington DC, Los Angeles, and Dallas metropolitan areas. 9. Do you accept credit cards?

10. I am buying this dance floor for my university; can I use a purchase order?
Yes, we accept Purchase Orders from qualified universities, colleges and municipalities in the U.S.

11. Can my company set up Net 30 terms with you?

12. How long does it take to install a 20ft x 20ft dance floor?
Typical install times for a dance floor this size is 45 minutes using 2 people. See Installation times chart.

13. I have trouble screwing in a light bulb, can I install DanceDeck myself?
Yes, anyone can do it. The male-female snap connection system makes installation a breeze. See How to install the floor.

14. Do I need instructions to install DanceDeck?
Not necessarily. But we do have Installation instructions available.

15. What happens if someone spills a drink on the floor?
Minor spills and even light rain (if the floor is outside) will not damage DanceDeck or DanceDeck Deluxe. The underside channels are designed to allow for drainage to run underneath and flow out so that moisture doesn’t collect underneath the floor possibly causing damage to the tiles.

16. Can DanceDeck be used outside?
Yes. DanceDeck is ideal for tent events and can even be outside without a tent. (However, we do not recommend using DanceDeck in full sunlight in very hot conditions.) DanceDeck can be placed on cement, asphalt and also closely cropped lawns.

17. Does DanceDeck need to be placed on a flat surface?
DanceDeck’s specially designed underside allows for added stability on uneven surfaces which allows DanceDeck to be placed on rough terrain and uneven surfaces. However, common sense is advised. We recommend getting a dance floor sample so that you may judge for yourself whether our dance floor can accommodate your environment.

18. Can DK and DKX tiles be laid on carpeting?
Depends on what type of carpeting and the height and thickness of the pile. We recommend use on carpeting with a dense, low pile. Industrial carpeting and carpeting typically found in hotel ballrooms works well with our dance floor tiles.

Use on other types of carpeting - such as residential/home carpeting (such as shag carpeting) with longer threads and a loose pile is not recommended - the unstable underlayment can create a tripping hazard. 19. Can DK and DKX tiles be laid on grass?
Yes, but only on closely-cropped lawns, such as putting greens. Due to the uneven nature of most outdoor areas, we strongly recommend using a sub-floor, such as plywood or our portable event flooring, EventDeck or UltraDeck.

20. What do I do if one of the tiles gets damaged?
You can order replacement tiles for individual 1ft x 1ft tiles if they get damaged.

21. I am planning a wedding with 200 guests, what size dance floor will I need?
We estimate that with 200 guests, about 70 will be dancing at any given time. To accommodate 70 dancers, we recommend providing an 18ft x 18ft dance floor. See our Calculation Chart.

22. How much storage space does DanceDeck require?
We recommend storing DanceDeck in 3ft x 3ft panel sections. A 20ft x 20ft DanceDeck vinyl dance floor will stack a little over 3 feet high (in 3ftx3ft sections). The same size DanceDeck Deluxe wood dance floor will stack at approximately 4.5 feet high. We highly recommend the use of the DanceDeck Transport Cart which allows you to have rolling storage for the 3ft x 3ft panel sections. The DanceDeck Transport Cart greatly speeds installation and dismantle times.

23. I need a black and white checkerboard dance floor; does it come preassembled with the alternating color tiles?
No, you will receive the sections in 3ft x 3ft sections. The sections will be stacked alternately in black and white.

24. How do the DanceDeck tiles connect?
The tiles connect simply with a male-female snap connection system. See our Installation instructions.

25. Does DanceDeck have edging?
Yes, DanceDeck has sloped edge pieces and corner pieces. The edge pieces provide a smooth transition to avoid tripping and also close off the open connection system. See product info.

26. How do I clean the dance floor?
DanceDeck and DanceDeck Deluxe are simple to clean. Use any standard no-wax vinyl tile cleaner on the vinyl DanceDeck. Use any standard urethane floor cleaner on the wood DanceDeck Deluxe. To eliminate scuff marks on both types of floor, use an SOS or Brillo pad and rub lightly. DanceDeck Professional Dance Floor Cleaner is safe to use on all DanceDeck products.

27. I already own DanceDeck and I need more tiles, is there a minimum order?
If you already own DanceDeck or DanceDeck Deluxe and need to replace tiles or want to expand the size of your floor, we do not require a minimum order. Please email us at to order replacement tiles. Or you may call us at 800-709-9055 or 212-953-1116 (M-F 9am-6pm Eastern).

28. I live near New York City; can I pick up the dance floor from your warehouse?

29. Am I obligated to pay sales tax on this dance floor?
Yes, we charge sales tax on the following orders:
- All sales orders shipped to a New York address.
- All sales orders that are picked up at our New York warehouse, regardless of billing address.
- All rental orders done in New York State.

30. Can I arrange for my own trucking service?

31. The theme of my wedding is all white and I would like an all white dance floor to complete the look. I noticed that there is a black border around the white tile; is it possible for the border to be white?
Yes, we can create an all white tile for you. Normally, the base tray is black, but to create a truly all white floor we can dye the base tray white. There is a $300 custom color charge additional and please allow an additional 2-3 weeks for this special order.

32. I am interested in getting matching edge pieces for the DanceDeck Deluxe, is a matching color available?
Yes, we can provide you with edging that will match the DanceDeck Deluxe tiles. There is no additional charge, but the minimum size dance floor for this custom-color edging is 18ft x 18ft (324 sq ft). Please allow an additional 2-3 weeks for this special order. (Note: we do not provide custom color edging for the DanceDeck, only for the the DanceDeck Deluxe.)

DanceDeck Pro by American Portable Dance Floors is ideal for all kinds of dancing. Originally, DK Pro was designed by professional ballroom dancers specifically to suit the specific needs of professional dancers. As such, the DK Pro portable dance floor is ideal for dance competitions, exhibitions and professional dance studios as a practice floor. The spectacular seamless, all-wood look of DK Pro, makes it ideal for weddings and other special events.

34. What colors are available?
DanceDeck Pro is made of real wood and is available in Clear Maple or Natural Oak. See Colors.

Our floors do not use particle board or low-cost components that could compromise the look and feel of the portable dance floor. Yes, DanceDeck Pro has matching real wood, sloped edge pieces and corner pieces. This is the only portable dance floor that offers matching wood edging. The sloped edging allows for a smooth transition between the ground and the dance floor – avoiding a potential tripping hazard. 38. Do you offer a storage cart for the DanceDeck Pro?
Yes, we offer a transport/storage cart that was designed especially for the DK Pro portable dance floor. The DK Pro Cart can hold up to 25 panels (store panels standing up, wood-to-wood to avoid damage) and is highly recommended for transporting and storing panels. It will also speed up installation and dismantle times.

39. What form of payment do you accept?

Typical install times for a dance floor this size is 1 hour using 2 people. We strongly recommend reviewing the Installation Instructions carefully before installing this floor as the instructions provide tips and important considerations to assist you.

43. Do I need instructions to install DanceDeck Pro?
Yes. We strongly recommend that you read through the instructions carefully before attempting to install the floor for the first time. While DanceDeck Pro is simple to install, it does require careful handling to avoid damage to the floor and connection system. See Installation Instructions.

44. Can DanceDeck Pro be used outside?
Yes. DanceDeck Pro can be used outside underneath a tent or canopy. We strongly advise not to leave the floor out overnight though as moisture can cause damage to the wood.

45. I am planning a wedding with 200 guests, what size dance floor will I need?
We estimate that with 200 guests, about 70 will be dancing at any given time. To accommodate 70 dancers, we recommend providing an 18ft x 18ft dance floor. See our How To Calculate section for more info.

46. What do I do if one of the panels gets damaged?

47. What can I use to clean the floor?
DanceDeck Pro is simple to clean, but you do need to use care as this is an all-wood floor. For general cleaning, we recommend starting with a dry mop to remove loose debris. If more is required, proceed to using a damp mop. For heel marks, scuffs and ink or other spots or stains, we recommend using denatured alcohol (sold at most hardware stores) DanceDeck Professional Dance Floor Cleaner is safe to use on all DanceDeck products.

48. What’s the best way to store DK Pro?
We strongly recommend purchase of the specially-designed Storage Cart. <hyperlink to Product Info> The cart holds up to 25 panels upright and will also greatly speed installation and dismantle. If you are going to store DK Pro without our Storage Cart, we recommend storing panels with the wood panels facing each other (to avoid scratching) and upright.
